If you’ve come across my blog before you may be aware of my feelings on vegan cheese. I have yet to find a brand I don’t detest. So much so that it’s safe to say I gave up on this mission and faced a life without cheese (apart from my homemade cheeze which hits the spot perfectly for me).
When I heard about the White Rabbit Pizza Co and their Smokin Vegan Stonebaked Pizza I had to temporarily suspend my feelings on the devil that is vegan cheese. I had to try this pizza right? As far as I know it’s the first vegan pizza brand in UK supermarkets and it is also organic and gluten free. I grabbed the last one in my local Sainsbury’s for £5.
I waited in eager anticipation while it was cooking, watching the cheeze bubbling away with a sense of half excitement and half dread. The pizza has a tomato base with peppers and olives as well as the smoky cheese.
So my assessment on the pizza? From the world’s biggest hater of vegan cheese?
It was LOVELY! Oozy and not smelly feet like at all. The base is really thin and crispy and the toppings complement each other perfectly. I did add a few jalapeños just because I’m a little addicted to them at the moment. Price wise for the size, I think £5 is fair. It comfortably fed me and my 8 year old for lunch.
I would definitely buy this pizza again and a huge round of applause to the White Rabbit Pizza Company for producing a delicious plant based alternative for us to enjoy.
